One of the finest homes in one of Austin's most prestigious communities, this estate was designed around large open spaces, beautiful materials and natural light. Set behind the guard gates of Spanish Oaks and a second set of gates at Barton Creek Preserve, the striking contemporary residence pairs a bold dark exterior with expansive glass walls, white oak floors and seamless indoor-outdoor living. High ceilings and massive windows bring warmth and commanding Hill Country panoramas into nearly every room.
Set on 5 acres, the 8,894 sf home offers 7 bedrooms, 7 full baths and 3 half baths. The foyer opens to a generous living room with fireplace, a dining area, bar with pass-through to the pool, a second family living space with fireplace, and a fully appointed kitchen with a large island with beautiful stone slab. The primary suite is a study in luxury, with sliding glass doors to the pool, sweeping views, a massive closet and a spa bath with steam shower, freestanding tub and dual vanities. Outdoors, the property truly shines: an infinity pool, a water slide into a second sports pool, an outdoor kitchen and expansive new decking offer multiple areas for lounging and al fresco dining in a gorgeous setting.
The main level continues with a dedicated office, an en-suite guest bedroom, media room, full gym and 3 powder baths, plus a main-level detached casita with a large bath and kitchenette. Upstairs, two separate wings hold 4 additional en-suite bedrooms, giving family and guests plenty of space and privacy. Spanish Oaks

Spanish Oaks is a guard-gated Hill Country community in Bee Cave, about 20 minutes west of downtown Austin. Roughly 900 acres of rolling terrain, creek corridors and a private golf course give it a sense of space and privacy that is hard to find this close to the city. It is one of the communities I follow most closely in Austin.

Life in Spanish Oaks

Two gatehouses on Highway 71, staffed 24 hours a day, set the tone the moment you arrive. Inside, the pace slows. Residents share a multi-level pool pavilion with lap lanes and a sandy shallow area for children, a fish camp on a catch-and-release pond, pickleball courts and miles of trails that wind through woods, a pecan grove and along Little Barton Creek. The Austin Tennis Academy sits just outside the West Gate. It is a neighborhood where people walk, ride and fish, not simply drive home.

The Golf Club

At the center of the community is the private Spanish Oaks Golf Club. The 18-hole course, an original Bobby Weed design that opened in 2001, follows the natural contours of the land, with homes set up on the hillsides and the fairways down in the valley. It has been ranked among the top private courses in Texas by Golfweek, and it was built with an environmental focus, using reclaimed water and preserving native grasses and trees. The Spanish Colonial clubhouse offers casual and fine dining with a stone, tree-shaded patio, and most residents choose to join.

Homes and Architecture

There are no tract homes here. Spanish Oaks has more than 350 completed residences, ranging from about 2,500 to more than 10,000 square feet, with influences that run from Texas Hill Country and Mediterranean to Pacific Coast and contemporary. Lots average just over an acre, and many homes look across the golf course or long Hill Country views. The Hillside, a separately gated 83-acre enclave of 64 homesites with golf frontage, is built under strict architectural and landscape standards with approved architects and builders. For buyers who want less upkeep, villa enclaves such as Verde Trails offer a lock-and-leave option inside the same gates.

Schools

Spanish Oaks is in Lake Travis ISD. Students are currently assigned to Lake Pointe Elementary, Lake Travis Middle School and Lake Travis High School, and several well regarded private schools are a short drive away. Attendance zones can change, so I always confirm the current assignment for a specific address with the district.

Location

The community sits in Bee Cave, Travis County, off State Highway 71. The Hill Country Galleria, Whole Foods and the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center are minutes away, Lake Travis is roughly 15 minutes west, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is about a 20-mile drive. You get true Hill Country privacy without giving up easy access to the city.

The Market

Spanish Oaks is a small, quiet market. About 10 sales a year is typical, and a meaningful share of activity happens privately, so public data rarely tells the whole story. The top of the market remains strong. In September 2026, 6001 Krause Lane, a 12,365 square foot estate on nearly three acres, went under contract at a list price of $10,995,000. Because Texas is a non-disclosure state, closed prices are not public, which is exactly why local knowledge matters when you price or buy here.

Why Work with Me in Spanish Oaks

I send a monthly Spanish Oaks market report to owners in the community, so I know what is listing, what is selling and what is trading quietly. I am ranked in the top 1.5% of agents nationwide by RealTrends, named to Coldwell Banker's Presidents Circle for 2025 and a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist. Whether you are buying in Spanish Oaks or considering a sale, I bring both the data and the discretion this community expects.
